Agnes Fox Daugherty

Agnes Daugherty, 92, of Redwood Valley, California, died at home of natural causes on February 25, 2024.

Born on April 4, 1931, in Queens, New York, she attended college at Marquette University in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She moved to Ames, Iowa, where she met her future husband, Charles Daugherty, with whom she eventually shared eight children.

Agnes had worked as an office manager for her husband’s veterinary practice in Wisconsin. Locally, she worked as a medical transcriber at Hillside Hospital, as a real estate broker, and as a co-owner of Fjords Smorgette in Ukiah, CA.  

Agnes helped start the Ukiah chapter of Sing Out America and was instrumental in building a Teen Center (now the Ukiah Senior Center).  After her husband Charles passed, she was involved in, and eventually led, a grief support group in Ukiah.

 Agnes is survived by daughters Eileen Gibson, Peggy Faz, and sons Dave, Jim, Dan, and Rob. She has twelve grandchildren and one great grandchild. She is preceded in death by her sons Richard and Michael.

A Celebration of Life barbeque and potluck will be held at the Daugherty family home in Redwood Valley on Saturday, June 15, 2024, from 2:00pm-7:00pm that will be open to people who have known her. Please join us and share some memories. For more information call Dave Daugherty 209-304-9442.
