Guy N. Birleffi

A memorial service for Guy N. Birleffi will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, November 14, 2009 at St. Eugene’s Cathedral in Santa Rosa. Entombment will precede the service at 9:00 am at Holy Cross Cemetery in St. Helena. Mr. Birleffi died on November 1, 2009 at the age of 95 following a brief illness.
He was a Lt. Colonel in the Army, serving in New Guinea, Australia and the Philippines during World War II. After the war, he was co-owner of “Guy & Eddie’s” in Calistoga. He and his family moved to Santa Rosa in 1960, and he worked in wholesale wine and liquor sales in Sonoma County until his retirement.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and George Phelan of Redwood Valley, son Michael Dan Birleffi of Santa Rosa, four grandchildren and one great grandson. He was predeceased by his wife Bonnie McDuffey Birleffi and siblings Americo and Gino Birleffi.
