(April 27, 1933 to November 19, 2010 )
Resident of Redwood Valley, California

Obituary:
Charlotte Wilson Campbell

Charlotte Wilson Campbell was born in Santa Barbara, California on April 27, 1933 and went home to her Lord and Savior on November 19, 2010, in Ukiah, California. She was preceded in death by her parents Charles and Ellen Wilson, her brother Herb, and her husband of eleven years, Dale Campbell. She is survived by her “adopted son,” Paul Johnson and his family.
A passionate educator, Mrs. Campbell began her teaching career at Redwood Valley School in 1956. She loved teaching and she loved all children. In 1964, when Mrs. Campbell had acquired too many books for her classroom, she opened the first library in a closet of Redwood Valley School. Charlotte continued her support of reading and purchased books annually for the library. When Eagle Peak Middle School opened, the new library was dedicated to her in recognition of a life-time of promotion and generous support of reading. After 40 plus years of service, Charlotte retired as a full-time teacher but moved with the Redwood Valley staff to Eagle Peak Middle School and continued her involvement as a consultant and volunteer. Many regard her as the “mother” or “heart” of both schools.
A member of the Redwood Valley community since 1955, Charlotte served on the board for the RV Volunteer Fire Department. An active member of the Redwood Valley Community Church, she was a Sunday School Teacher, sang in the choir, was a Youth Group Leader, and an AWANA volunteer.
Charlotte worked beautiful needlepoint, collected books and collie dog figurines, and loved her horses, mules, jigsaw puzzles, Roy Rogers and Dale Evans, Howdy Doody, and all antique stores. She was regularly seen enthusiastically bidding at estate auctions. She will always be remembered for her complete faith in Christ, her generosity, and her love of reading and teaching.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to Eagle Peak Middle School Library. Memorial services will be held on Saturday, December 4th, 2010 at 10:00 a.m. at Redwood Valley Community Church.
Eversole Mortuary is in charge of arrangements.
