Obituary:
Maudine Ally Carlton, 82, passed away peacefully November 22, 2014 in Ukiah, CA, surrounded by friends and family. Maudine was born March 9, 1932 in Burbank, Oklahoma to Ally and Benjamin Ringer and moved to California as a young girl. Maudine lived in Napa, CA prior to moving to Ukiah 40 years ago. Her most rewarding accomplishments were those spent raising her children and caring for her husband of 59 years, Donald Carlton. She was an active Cub Scout den mother for her three sons and an avid fan of their many sport activities. She belonged to the PTA and supported her only daughter, lovingly, in scouts and dance. The family still enjoys the many years of camping memories as a family. She and her husband were avid RV'ers and faithful "snowbirds", often sporting a tan in early April. She was a wonderful cook and thrived on family gatherings, which she made a real joy for all of us. She loved to can jellies and tuna, and the family looked forward to her yearly "catch" of crab and abalone. Maudine went in the ocean in jeans and long johns to pick abalone and never left without her limit! She brought us, including extended family members a great sense of what it means to be a close family, thankful for each other. She will be missed greatly by the many who called her "MOM". Maudine is survived by daughter Lynde and her husband Martin Disomma, son Michael and Pauline Carlton, daughter in law Teri Carlton, sister in law Ruth Marsh, grandchildren Blake Disomma and partner Chanelle Newcomer, Tristen Disomma and partner Jeremy Baer, Aran Carlton, Chris and his wife Maija Carlton, great grandchildren Dashjay and Dione, Atlas and Mila Carlton. Also survived by her cat companion Missy. Maudine was preceded in death by husband Donald W. Carlton, sons David Paul Carlton and Robert Dale Carlton, mother Ally Hensley and father Benjamin Ringer and a brother, Harley Ringer. The family would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to Joan Rickle, Danya Mendez, Jody Honeyman and the wonderful volunteers at Ukiah Hospice; Shelley, Leah and Diane for the loving care they showed our mom and support they provided the family. A graveside service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the Ukiah Cemetery at 1:00 PM. There will be a potluck "get together", location will be announced following the service. You may bring a dish but it is not required, ALL of you, please join us for this celebration of Maudine's life.
