Cora Gonzalez, a devoted mother, compassionate community advocate, and proud resident of Ukiah, California, passed away peacefully on June 22, 2025, in Petaluma, CA, with her loving daughter Rose Falgout by her side. She was 76 years old.
Born on March 27, 1949, in Sunnyvale, CA, Cora was the eldest of nine siblings and a natural leader from the start. She moved to Ukiah over five decades ago, where she raised her family and made a lasting impact on her community.
Cora began her professional journey employed at Fetzer Vineyards in the Accounting - Payroll Department. Later, she found her true calling in nonprofit work, dedicating herself to helping others improve their lives. She took great pride in assisting field workers in securing careers as nurses, truck drivers, and more—always driven by her deep belief in the power of opportunity and personal growth.
A single mother, Cora raised three successful children—Ana Razo, Rose Falgout, and Casper Rubalcava—whom she encouraged to strive for excellence. All of her children attended college, and her two daughters earned college degrees, becoming some of the first in their family to do so, a point of great pride for Cora.
She will be remembered for her tireless work ethic, fierce competitive spirit, and her generosity. In her younger years, she was a passionate athlete, enjoying sports such as running, softball, soccer, and basketball. Later in life, she found joy in her garden, especially in nurturing her beloved chile plants.
Cora was a devout Catholic whose faith guided her through life’s challenges and triumphs. Preceded in death by her parents Esteban and Esperanza Gonzales, and her daughter Ana Razo. She is survived by her daughter Rose Falgout and her son Casper Rubalcava, four grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren, along with her many siblings and extended family.
Cora’s legacy lives on in the countless lives she touched and the strength and love she instilled in her family. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.
