Obituary:
Ted Daniel, 70, of Covelo passed away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at Ukiah Valley Medical Center with his family present. Ted was born December 30, 1939 in Borger, Texas.
Ted graduated from Watsonville High and served his country in the U.S. Navy for 4 years.
Ted lived in Covelo for the past 25 years where he was the owner of Ted’s Rainbow Auto Parts. Ted was most proud of sponsoring racecars, acquiring his Jaguar and attending the Indy 500. He was involved with the Lions Club and various community services. He received numerous acknowledgements for his services in the community.
Ted will be remembered for instilling hard working ethics in his daughters and his knowledge of auto part engines and saws. If you knew Ted you know what his favorite quote is! In a blog on yelp, it was said that Ted’s Rainbow Auto Parts was “Good for all your automotive needs. Ted, the owner and operator is very knowledgeable.”
Ted was baptized at the Presbyterian Church in Covelo.
Ted is survived by his mother Dorothy W. Daniel of Covelo, daughters Terry Stringer of Santa Cruz, Ca and Diane Jensen of Salinas, Ca, grandchildren Christopher Jensen of Salinas, Ca, Michael Jensen of Salinas, Ca, Taylor Stringer of Kansas, Katherine Stringer of Kansas and Jackson Stringer of Kansas. Ted was preceded in death by his father Lloyd Daniel.
Flyers will be posted to give the place and time of the gathering in Covelo.
The family prefers memorial contributions in Ted’s name to the American Cancer Society.
