Obituary:
Charles Howard Dashiell passed away on January 1, 2010 at the age of 81 of complications of his heart condition at the Ukiah Valley Medical Center.
He is survived by his children Howard and Mike Dashiell along with grandchildren Logan, Stephanie and Gina also of Potter Valley. Charles was preceded in passing by his wife of 35 years, Julia (1995) and brothers Donald Dashiell (1959) and James Dashiell (2001).
Charles was born in Potter Valley on August 14, 1928 – the first son of James and Muriel Dashiell. He resided in Mendocino County for most of his 81 years. He served in the US Army during the Korean War from 1950 to 1953. Charles’ career with the Pacific Telephone and Telegraph Company spanned some 35 years. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who enjoyed hunting, fishing and travel in the great outdoors.
