Obituary:
Velma Dockins passed away on Friday, April 16, 2021 in Saint Helena with her daughters by her side. Born May 26, 1932, Velma was a lifelong Ukiah resident. She graduated from Ukiah High and worked as manager of the Wonder Bread Store and being a mother. She married Albert “Bud” Dockins on September 16, 1950. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren and her work for the Lord. Velma was an active member of Redwood Valley Community Church, Redwood Riders, Redwood Valley Grange and she and Bud were Grand Marshall of the Redwood Valley Parade. She will be remembered for her strong faith in the Lord and for being a “mom” to many. She loved gardening, flowers, fishing, camping and her extended family. She was a strong Christian. Velma is survived by her daughters Glenda Dockins Klaisner (Richard), Sharon Dockins Enright (Tom), son Donald A. Dockins (Diana L.), she was “G.G.” to Diana A., Sean, Craig, Angie, Melanie, Scott, Tami, Shianna and numerous great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents Clarence and Vella, her husband of over 49 years Bud, grandson Donnie, sisters Odie Chapmen, Ruth A. Coppock, and brothers Charles and Walter Rowley.
At Velma’s request, light or floral attire is preferred for her Celebration of Life to be held at Redwood Valley Community Church on Saturday, April 24, 2021 at 2 pm. Private interment will be held at Ukiah Cemetery. Contributions to Redwood Valley Community Church are preferred.
