Donna May De Bernardi

On Thursday July 21st, 2022, our beloved mother, daughter, grandmother, aunt and friend Donna May De Bernardi passed away peacefully at Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA with family by her side.

My mom was born on July 29th, 1944 in Eureka, CA to Viola and Leonard Zachary.
She married Peter John De Bernardi and later gave birth to a daughter, Kimberly Ann De Bernardi and a son Timothy Wayne De Bernardi.

While working at Ukiah General Hospital she did home studies
to become a medical records coder. She studied hard and received her Registered Health Information Technician (RHIT) certificate in coding and later received her Certified Coding Specialist certificate. She accepted a position as a medical records coder at the county hospital in Santa Rosa and then later retired from Queen of the Valley Hospital in Napa as a medical records coder. She was excellent at her job and proud of it.

My mom was always up for an adventure. She loved to travel. She loved all animals and got so much joy from her two cats Midnight and Blu. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren, Dredan, Karrah, Hezekiah and Naomi. Every time she had extra money she delighted in buying something for them to make them smile. She enjoyed decorating and especially loved all things Christmas. She was a loving mother, grandmother, aunt and sister. She was a very strong and brave woman who overcame many obstacles in her life, and she will be missed tremendously by those who knew her and loved her.

My mom was preceded in death by her father and mother, Viola and  Leonard Zachary, her brother Wayne Zachary, her son, Timothy Wayne De Bernardi and her niece Denise Lucchesi. She is survived by her daughter Kimberly De Bernardi, Ally De Bernardi, grandson Dredan De Bernardi-Love, granddaughter Karrah Rose De Bernardi-Love, nieces Cindy Chapman, Cathi Kucz, Carolyn Stewart, Cheryl Hart, Dina Lucchesi Collins, nephew Donald Wright and sister Janice Lucchesi.

A private informal graveside service will be held at the Russian River Cemetery District  940 Low Gap Rd, Ukiah, CA  95482.
