Dorothy (Dot) Hollenback-Colling
1939 - 2026
Dot was born in Ukiah on April 14, 1939. She passed away on February 21, 2026 surrounded by her family. She is now with the Heavenly Father. Dot is preceded in death by her husband Jim, of 59 years, her son, James, her parents, George and Hazel Hollenback and her brothers Floyd, Lester and Fred Hollenback. Dot leaves behind her daughter's Aileen (Ken) Green, Tacoma, WA and Karen (Mike) Crutcher, Boonville, CA. To cherish her memories are 6 grandchildren, Rashid, Julie, Nadia, Erik, Aaron and Randy. Dot had 4 great-grand children, Trae, Luna, Alice and Weston. Dot graduated from Fort Bragg High School in 1958 and married her high school sweetheart, Jim Colling.Dot was an adventurous woman, involving herself with her children's activities. She was a Campfire girls leader and Boy Scout mom. Dot was a member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles, many square dance clubs, bowling leagues, the Red Hat Society, the Ukiah garden Club and Ukiah Senior Center, Dot and Jim traversed the US in her RV making friends at RV parks along the way. They won many awards and ribbons for Pool, horseshoes and pickleball. In addition, they made several trips to Europe. They participated in the Senior Olympics in Utah and Arizona. Dot was the vice president of the Ukiah Valley Horseshoe club. Dot was a member of the New Life Church in Ukiah and was an avid fan of the Golden State Warriors. On her life's journey she enjoyed gardening, garage sales, knitting, crocheting, quilting, collecting hats, pins and dolls. Dot never met a person who wasn't an instant friend. She was a tiny lady but mighty! She will be greatly missed by family and friends near and far.
