Joan Carol Draper

Joan Carol Draper passed away January 7th at Ukiah Valley Medical Center from Pulmonary Hypertension, with all of her family by her side.
Joan was born May 9th, 1938 to Verne (Bunny) and Clara Wood in Fortuna, CA. Joan married Jimmie Draper, the love of her life, at the age of 17, on June 24th, 1955.
Their love was a joy and inspiration to all of those that knew them. In the next 6 years they were blessed with 3 children. They raised their family in Fortuna for 15 years, Livermore 6 years, and moved to Ukiah 38 years ago.
While living in Ukiah, Joan was involved with many things, including owning a catering company. Joan was a volunteer for the American Cancer Society for 20 years. She was an active member of the Early Iron car club for 19 years.
Joan was loved by everyone who knew her and will be greatly missed by all.
Joan is survived by her loving husband Jimmie, 3 children Debbie Bancroft, Deena Stultz, and David Draper, all of Ukiah, also, 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, and another arriving in March. Joan was preceded in death by her infant son Donald.
There will be a memorial service on Wednesday, January 12th at 1:00 p.m. at Eversole Mortuary in Ukiah. Following the memorial there will be a procession of cars from the Early Iron car club down State Street to Joan’s home on Tomki Rd for a celebration of Joan’s wonderful life.
