Obituary:
Denise Rose Knight- Feather aka “Babe- Auntie Babe” Denise was born on September 25th, 1953 in Ukiah CA. to her loving parents Dennison Steven Knight and Norma Rose Fulwilder- Knight who she proceeds in death. Denise entered into eternal rest at the age of 64 on January 4, 2018, Surrounded by loved ones in Ukiah CA. She Resided on the Round Valley Indian Reservation located in Covelo CA. Denise is preceded in death by her brother Damon Knight, sister Myra Knight grandson William W.D. Feather, and favorite nephew Stanley “Chuck” Want.
Denise will forever remember by her family as a simple and humble Indian Woman, a kind sister, a loving Mother, a cherished gramma, a unique aunt, and a dedicated friend. She was always available to her children and loved her grandchildren
Denise is survived by her five children & grandchildren: daughter Madonna (husband Rick) Cruz, grandchildren: Edy & Reynalda Feather-Cruz of Santa Rosa. Son Walter (Wife Shirley) Feather grandchildren Zoey, Norma,& Walter of Ukiah, Ca. Son William (spouse Yolanda) Feather grandchildren Ohshinna, Takalya, Willem, Walaya, Waylan of Ukiah, CA. Son Carlos White of Covelo, CA. Daughter Angelica (spouse Daniel) Dubray grandchildren Leland Dalson, Marquita Want of Covelo, CA.
Brothers Emmet (wife Shirley) Lincoln of Coos Bay, OR. Sister Lois Whipple of Covelo, CA. Brother Lewis Knight of Covelo CA. In addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Denise was a proud member of the American Indian Movement. Her passions included arts, the ocean, her animals, gardening, cultural celebrations, all things American Indian including the Catholic Church.
She loved the Yokayo Rancheria & the Round Valley Indian Reservation. She cherished her memories of her life lived in the Napa Valley and playing basketball in High School, and moments spent with her Aunt Bernie and Uncle Nelson in Lake County.
Funeral Services to be held on January 12, 2018.
