Francis “Frank” Hansen was born 03/26/39 to Marvin and Florenda Hansen. He was a long-time resident of Redwood Valley, California, where he made his home and lived a life that was uniquely his own.
Frank was a hardworking man who spent much of his life as a laborer and farm worker. He enjoyed being outdoors and could often be found planting, cutting wood, tending to flowers, or simply enjoying the fresh air. He had a special love for riding his bicycle and continued to ride until the very end of his life.
Frank was intelligent and self-educated. He enjoyed keeping up with the news, current events, and what was happening in the world around him. He was curious, thoughtful, and always interested in learning.
Although Frank could initially seem reserved, those who knew him soon discovered that there was much more to him than met the eye. He talked to everyone and had a natural ability to make friends wherever he went. He enjoyed socializing and was known by many in the community. His sister Elizabeth often shared how people would give Frank Christmas presents and cards, a testament to the friendships and connections he made through out his life. Even when he went to the casino with his sister, Frank would inevitably run into someone he knew.
Frank was a man of strong convictions. He could be stern and firm in his beliefs, but beneath that strong exterior was a heart of gold. He cared about people in his own way and left an impression on the many people fortunate enough to know him.
Frank will be remembered for his independence, his strong spirit, his love of the outdoors and bicycling, his sharp mind, and most of all, for the friendships he formed with people wherever he went. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Florenda and Marvin Hansen; his brothers, John, Ernest, and Otis; and his sisters, Evangline and Ramona.
He is survived by his siblings Mary, Elizabeth and Marvin, as well as his numerous nieces and nephews, who will carry his memory with them and remember him for the one-of-a-kind person he was.
