Born February 25, 1940 in Ukiah, Juanita was a proud Ukiahi Wildcat graduate Class of 1958. She worked in merchandising at Irene’s Dress Shop and Mervyns. She was a member of CIBA (California Indian Basketmaker Association) and The “Turtle” Club (Women’s Bowling). She loved to travel, going to Hawaii and Eastern U.S. many times. A favorite was camping at the “Coast”. Juanita was most proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be remembered for her honesty, loyalty and total devotion to her family, her incredible smile and daily cheerfulness even on the worst days. She was quick witted and had a great sense of humor. Always ready to go on a trip- to the market or to New England. She was an accomplished and recognized Native American Basketmaker.
