Geneva Louise York

Geneva Louise Fleming York died April 28, 2026. Born July 26, 1934, in Mena, Arkansas. Daughter of A.O. Fleming and Marguerite Woodrow. Geneva’s family came to California in the 1940’s to work the crops and managing cattle ranches. Geneva graduated from Ukiah High and fell in love with James York. Jim and Geneva worked together for 60 years. Geneva was the bookkeeper for Jim, and both retired from the Pepsi Corporation. The couple spent several years traveling across the U.S. with their travel trailer. During the early years of retirement Geneva volunteered at Ukiah Hospice and Ukiah Senior Center thrift shops, as well as the Grace Hudson Museum Gift Shop. Geneva participated in the Ukiah Women’s Golf Club for many years and loved her time with the Elks Club Wapedi’s. Geneva had a competitive spirit when it came to playing cards and playing Gin was a highlight to her week. Geneva leaves a daughter, Diana York, and son in-law Stephen Thomas. Grandchildren Nicholas, Daniel (Marguerite), Stephen (Amethyst), Erin (Darren), and Francis. Great-grandchild Ellis James Dencklau. Geneva was pre-deceased by James York and Son Loren York. The family would like to thank the Dalistan family and their staff for providing a loving environment for Geneva in her last years.
