Obituary:
Vera Mae Goates passed away on September 9, 2019 in Cloverdale, Ca. Vera was born on October 11, 1926 in Arkansas. She has been a resident of the area for 62 years with regular journeys back to Arkansas. Vera was a homemaker, wife, mother, and grandmother.
Vera’s accomplishments include being the favorite grandmother, being very talented on the sewing machine and making dresses and shirts. “Mom loved to cook and feed everyone who entered her home. No one was allowed to leave hungry.”
Vera loved to play dominos and bingo and loved hanging out with her friends and family. She enjoyed going to church and Christian music was very special to her. Her favorite quote was “I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.”
She leaves behind her daughter Lola Mae Pardo who lives in Litchfield Park, Arizona, her sons James Donald Goates of Silverton, Oregon, Leslie Dale Goates of Ukiah, Ca, and Jason Eugene Goates of Ukiah, Ca. Her grandchildren Bobby Goates of Ukiah, Ca, Danny Goates of Albany, Oregon, Phyllis Bryant of Silverton, Oregon, John Barrar of Youngsville, Louisiana, Sara Littrell and Anthony Pardo of Litchfield Park, Arizona, Lorenzo Pardo or Willits, Ca, Launa Goates of Hopland, Ca, Carrie Goates of Cabo San Lucas, BCS, Matt Goats of Ukiah, Ca, Jennifer Goates of Chico, Ca, Josh Goates of Ukiah, Ca, and Justin Ashford. Her sister Delana Faye Casey of Sonoma, Ca and brother Franklin D. Kendrick of Fortsmith, Arkansas. She is also survived by 15 great great grandchildren.
Vera was preceded in death by her parents Alonzo and Adah Pearl Kendrick, her husband William Gene Goates, her son Bobby Gene Goates, Her sisters Bula Nunley, Mary Austin, her brothers Alonzo Kendrick, William Kendrick, Robert Kendrick, and J.W. Kendrick.
Her visitation will be held on Sunday September 15, 2019 3pm-8pm at Eversole Mortuary with services Monday September 16, 2019 at the Ukiah Cemetery Chapel.
The family would like donations to go to St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
