Agnes Louise Gomes
On Thursday, February 7, 2019, Agnes Louise Gomes passed away peacefully at her Ukiah home. Born Agnes Louise Swartz on August 12, 1926 to
Bartley and Marie Swartz in Altadena, California. In 1928 Agnes lost her mother and her grandmother. Agnes and her older sister Betty moved with their father to a ranch just outside of Mendocino where she grew up, attended school and later met Louis J. Gomes. They were married in 1944. Together they had three sons, Martin, Michael and Steven. In 1952 they moved to Ukiah and continued to raise their family where she spent her life as a devoted wife, mother and homemaker. Agnes is survived by her two sons, Michael (Judie) and Steven, three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, her husband Louis, and son Martin. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the caregivers for the care and love given to Agnes when we could not be there. Funeral services will be private.
