BARBARA HOWARD OBITUARY

Barbara J. Howard (Simpson) went to be with our Lord and Savior on Thursday October 30, 2014. Barbara is survived by her daughters Michelle (Dennis) Higgs, Danelle (Michael) Pascarella, sister Shirley Merrill, grandchildren Christy (Dan) Barnes, Ashley Howard, Steven Pascarella, Jeremy Pascarella, great grandchildren Danielle, Jeremy and Desiree Barnes, niece Robin Merrill, nephew David Merrill and many family and friends. Predeceased by her husband Master Chief Allen Howard, US Navy.

Barbara was born on November 19, 1943 in Ukiah and graduated from Petaluma High School in 1961. She met Allen in San Francisco and they married on November 21, 1964. They were happily married for 35 years before Allen's death in 2000.

She was a member of St. John's United Methodist Church in Rohnert Park and long time member and former president of United Methodist Women. She also hosted The Knitting Pearls and The Prayer Shawl Ministry at St. John's.

Barbara loved spending time with family and looked forward to the family dinners on Saturday nights and holidays. She enjoyed going to the coast, knitting and cooking family favorites. She will be remembered for her Swiss Green Bean Casserole, everyone's favorite.

Graveside services will be held at Russian River Cemetary in Ukiah, under the direction of Eversole Mortuary Thursday November 6, 2014 at 1:00 pm where she and Allen's ashes will be laid to rest. Viewing will be from 9:00 am - 12:00 pm at Eversole Mortuary prior to the graveside service.

A Memorial Service will be held for Barbara Saturday November 8, 2014 at 2:00 pm at St. John's United Methodist Church in Rohnert Park. Pastor Kelly O'Connor presiding at both services.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. John's United Methodist Church 5150 Snyder Lane Rohnert Park, CA 94928.
