Illace "Ida" Freeman

Illace “Ida” Marie Freeman, age 77, a Yuki and Nomlacki Indian of the Round Valley Indian Tribes, passed away on August 2, 2023, with family at her side. She was born on September 18, 1946, in Willits, California, the daughter of the late Lawrence Tillotson and Ona (Duncan) Freeman and stepfather Willard Freeman.

She is survived by her daughter’s Eileen Thomson, April James, and Melanie Freeman. Her son Harold “Boopers” Freeman, Jr. preceded her in death. Ida left behind numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews all loved dearly and affectionately.

Funeral services will be held at the Methodist Church in Covelo, California on Saturday, August 5, 2023, at 11 am. A wake will be held Friday, August 4, 2023. A fellowship will follow the service on Saturday at Illace’s home in Covelo.

Pallbearers for the service include Lawrence Tiny Freeman, Jobe Thomson, Carlos Rabano, Cole Rabano, EJ Johns, Leon Oliver, Marlon Jack, Tyrone Earl Mitchell, Elvis Johns, and Dominic Blancas. Honorary pallbearers are Reggie Case, Jobe N Thomson, Sylas Thomson, Julius Thomson, Stormy Redhawk, Kadyn McCloud and Kevin Pete, Ronnie Hostler, Leonard Freeman, Dave Freeman, Mike Freeman, Danny Case, Tyrone Mitchell, Nick Jack and Filmore Allen Perez.
