John W. Brown

Jack Brown of Potter Valley passed away on July 20, 2022 from complications of COVID.  Jack was born on August 4th, 1935 and grew up in Pasadena, CA.  He met the love of his life Patricia (Pat) Harrison while working with his Dad, who managed the stables at Stanford University.  They were married for 59 years until her passing in 2015.  Jack and Pat worked side by side, dedicating their lives to raising 6 children and doing what they loved, ranching and caring for their cattle and the land.

Jack was very active in his community as a 4-H leader, school board member and coaching youth sports.  He loved to tease and came up with the best nicknames.

He is predeceased by his wife, Pat, son David and daughter in law, Barbara, as well as his siblings Bill Brown and Barbara Reed.  Jack is survived by his children Judy (Steve), Kathy, Jim, Don (Rhonda) and Ken. His eight amazing grandkids, nine delightful great grandkids and one great, great granddaughter.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, April 15th at 11:00 at the Potter Valley Rodeo grounds, followed by a BBQ lunch and lots of good stories.

Memorial donations may be made to: The Angus Foundation, 3201 Frederick Avenue, Saint Joseph, MO 64506 or the Hereford Youth Foundation, 11500 N W Ambassador Dr., Ste 410, Kansas City, MO 64153
