Jonathan David
Zanzarov
February 19, 1998 – May 22, 2026
Jonathan David Zanzarov, known lovingly as Jonnie, passed away on May 22, 2026, at the age of 28. Born on February 19, 1998, in Santa Rosa, California, he was living in Ukiah at the time of his passing.
A gifted student from an early age, Jonnie earned straight A's throughout Ukiah High School, graduating in 2015. He went on to earn his degree in Computer Science from California State University, Stanislaus, graduating Summa Cum Laude in May of 2020.
As a extremely intelligent young man, Jonnie was logical to a T — highly analytical, a devoted critical thinker who loved to turn a question over and examine it from every angle. That same brilliant mind made him one of the best in the world at the video game Rocket League, where he ranked in the top 1.5% of all players. Like his Mother and sister, Caryanne, he was deeply interested in psychology, and he enjoyed philosophical conversations with his siblings, Christian and Bethany, during their weekly gaming sessions. He was admired and looked up to by his nieces, nephews, and friends.
But for all his sharp thinking, Jonnie was a sensitive soul with a big heart. He was respectful, caring and polite, and he was deeply loved by his family and friends. He loved pasta and music of many genres. He and his mom would play music videos and break them down together and he treasured time spent with his dad, whether they were playing games or watching shows. But for all his sharp thinking, Jonnie was a sensitive soul with a big heart. He was caring, polite, respectful, and fair-minded, and he was deeply loved by his family and friends. He earned a High Brown Belt in Tae Kwon Do and was a member of Sun Yi’s Academy of Traditional Taekwondo’s demo team alongside his siblings, Joshua and Kristl. Wildlife of all sorts interested him, especially tiny animals, which he enjoyed photographing and searching for with his nephew, Phaelan. He and his Mom would play music videos and break them down together. He treasured time spent with his Dad, playing games, watching shows, camping, and sharing a sense of humor that was uniquely their own. He loved pasta and burritos, music of many genres, traveling, kayaking, and participating in new experiences.
Jonnie is survived by his parents, George and Kimberly; his siblings, Caryanne, Danielle (Esiquio), Joshua (Kristl), Christian, and Bethany; his nieces and nephews, Cayla, Phaelan, Marianna, Giovanni, Evan, and Mia; and his grand-niece, Waylon. As well as his aunts Jill, Robin, Mari Lyn, and Denise, and his Uncle Boris.
He will remain in the hearts and minds of his family and friends forever.
