Kurt Doss Kieckhefer

Kurt Doss Kieckhefer died October 26, 2022 in Ukiah CA. He was born February 7, 1943 in Bridgeport Connecticut.  After serving 4 years in the Navy and graduating from UC Berkeley, he worked for the US General Accounting Office and later for American President Lines.

In 1967 he married Sally Schoolfield. Sally and Kurt moved from San Francisco to Potter Valley in 1981 where Kurt joined the Potter Valley Fire Volunteer Department. He loved being a first responder and eventually became Chief. He retired in 1997 due to a stroke. Kurt was a member of the Redwood Empire Bonsai Society and NorCal Bonsai  Group. He is survived by Sally Kieckhefer, his wife of 55 years, and a brother, David Kieckhefer of Tijeras NM.
