Howard Gilbert LaRue, 89
Howard passed away peacefully on Friday, January 16, 2015. Howard was born in Albion, Idaho to Ray and Rua LaRue. The family moved out to Buena Park, California, and then during the depression they relocated back to Idaho. Upon graduating high school, Howard joined the Marines, 1st Division, 7th Regiment, 1st Battalion, 7th Marine, 1st Marine Division, PFC during WWII. After his service in the war, Howard moved to Richmond, California and became a Police Officer, where he met the love of his life Millie Crews. Howard and Millie were married for 67 years and had a son, Danny and a daughter, Vickie. Howard joined the Carpenters Union as journeyman carpenter and quickly was promoted to supervisor. In 1979, Howard and Millie moved to Potter Valley to pursue retirement living.
Howard is survived by his loving wife Millie, their son Danny (Jeannie) and their daughter Vickie (Tim), 4 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Laura and Kay.
Graveside services will be held at Potter Valley Cemetery on Saturday, January 24th, 2015 at 11 a.m. A celebration of Life will proceed directly after at the Spotswood House Barn on West Road in Potter Valley.
