Obituary:
Funeral services for Millie LaRue of Potter Valley will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Eversole Mortuary with Pastor Diane Knox officiating. A Celebration of Life will follow immediately after the services at Potter Valley Rodeo Grounds. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2017 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary. Millie passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 with her family by her side.
Born October 28, 1922 in Alma, Arkansas, Millie worked stateside during WWII helping produce munitions and war supplies. She married Howard La Rue, a Marine and WWII veteran, on June 1, 1947. They resided in Potter Valley for 38 years. She was a wife, mother and grandmother and will be remembered as being the rock of her family and friends. She was a member of the Potter Valley Methodist Church and Potter Valley Garden Club. Her favorite saying was “Holy Hannah.”
Millie is survived by her daughter Vickie Edwardson LaRue, son Danny Ray LaRue, sisters Ruth Carr and Pete Manning, grandchildren David LaRue, John H. LaRue, Becky LaRue and Ronnie Edwardson, great grandchildren Kelsea Lynn LaRue, Michelle LaRue and Veronique LaRue and great great grandson Sawyer Haze Armstrong. She was preceded in death by her husband Howard, brothers Leslie and Claudie, and sisters Faye and Edith.
In lieu of flowers donations to Hospice of Ukiah, Potter Valley Fire Department or Potter Valley Methodist Church are preferred.
