Marita Jean Patrick September 20, 1932 - December 19, 2025
Born Marita Jean Saunders to George M. and Thelma Eason Saunders on September 20, 1932, in Grand Junction, Colorado. Loving sister to James M. Saunders, killed in action Sept. 2, 1950, Korean conflict, and Joelle Saunders Ashford, deceased, 2022. Survived by her two living children, James-John Ronco and Julie Ann Kullman, 5 Grandsons, a Granddaughter, 7 Great-granddaughters and 1 Great-grandson. Loving mother to Gino O. Ronco, deceased Jan. 2022.
Moved with her family to Coyote Valley in 1948, graduate of Ukiah High School, Class of 1950. Married Oscar J. Ronco, deceased (Nov. 1983), on June 20, 1951, who was part owner of the 3 R Market. Moved into her forever home on N. Pine St. in 1951 and lived there until just before her passing. Married Paul Patrick in 1984 and together they owned and operated Yokayo Bowl for many happy years. An accomplished seamstress who founded and operated Marita’s Lettering and Factory Lettering serving the community with embroidery and specialty textile products, high school athletic awards and even lettered hats for “CAMP” and colors for the Hell’s Angels.
A founding member of the Pomo Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution who was honored to be chosen Outstanding Junior Member of California in 1962 and recognized as same at the National Convention where she served as the personal page for the national chairwoman.
A loving Grandmother, great-grandmother and friend to many throughout the years. Graveside services will be announced at a later date.
