Born January 2, 1933 in Monrovia, California, Marva passed away at her home in Ukiah on August 16, 2021 with her husband by her side. Marva has lived in Mendocino County for the past 70 years. She graduated from Laytonville High School where she was a majorette. She married Carrol on July 3, 1950. She was a homemaker who loved her sewing and crafts and family camping trips. She will be remembered for her famous carrot cakes and personalized Christmas bulbs.
Marva is survived by her husband of 71 years, Carrol Mathis, daughters Laurinda Waddington (Don Waddington), Yvonne Redding (Dan Smith), Carolyn Caron (Dave Moore), son Gregory Mathis (Susan Mathis), brother Don Myers (Nina Myers) and grandchildren all the way through great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her sister Doris Briggs (Ulis Briggs) and brother Burt Myers (Dee Myers).
There will be a small gathering with immediate family.
