Ukiah, Ca.-Barbara Jeanne Patton Morgan, 83, Ukiah, Ca; passed away February 20, 2016 due to complications from a series of strokes. She will be greatly missed by those who loved her.
Barbara was born on February 5, 1933 in Pittsburg, California to Forrest Patton and Grace Hunziker Patton. She had one brother, Robert. She graduated from Mt. Diablo High School in Concord, California in the class of 1950 where she went to school with her husband Jim. She received her Bachelor of Art from Sonoma State in 1972.
She married her high school sweetheart James Patrick Morgan on March 5, 1952 and they were blessed with three sons. James Patrick Morgan Jr., Matthew Patton Morgan and Rory Duncan Morgan. Jim and Barbara moved to Ukiah in 1954 after Jim was discharged from the service.
She worked for the county of Sonoma for twenty five years as a social worker under the department of Eligibility work.
She was an avid reader; when someone walked into her library for the first time they would always ask, ‘have you read all these books?” and she would say, “Yes, but only one at a time.” she loved History, movies, and she loved going to the city shopping and to get her hair done. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
She is survived by her husband Jim (Ukiah), of sixty four years, her son Rory and his wife SIndee (Windsor), eight grandchildren, and five great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sons Jimmy and Matthew, and her brother Robert Patton.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate her life at a Memorial service that will be held on Saturday March 5 at 11:00. The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, 1337 South Dora Street Ukiah, California.
Interment will be in the Ukiah Cemetery.
