Nelson Ralph Ashley Jr.

With profound sadness and deep love, we announce the passing of Nelson “Ralph” Ashley Jr., who entered eternal rest on July 30, 2026 in Ukiah Ca. Born on December 23, 1958 in Fontana, Ca. He touched the lives of many with his kind heart, quiet courage, and the relationships he built throughout his life. In his final days “Ralph” was surrounded by love, and care of his family. Though his illness was difficult, he faced it with grace, and those who were blessed to care for him will forever cherish the precious moments they shared with him. His gratitude, love, and gentle spirit will remain in the hearts of those who know him.

“Ralph” is lovely survived by his sisters, Margaret W. Ashley-Olea (Victor Olea) and Leal A. Ashley, adopted brother/sister (nephew) Michael D. Ashley, (niece) Leanne Ashley and a half-brother Kevin (Ashley) Pelton of Kansas, Uncles Melvin R, Campbell, Roy Ashley, Emerson Ashley, aunt Evelyn Ashley, step-children, Anthony Moreno, Gidget Palomino and Linda Palomino and grandchildren (7). And many nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was preceded in death by his mother Gloria Veva Alarcon and father Nelson R. Ashley, siblings, Stephen M. Ashley, Regis H. Ashley and Linda Joy Ashley-Garduno, niece Ashley M. Pulawa and Nephew Thomas Garduno. Wife, Daphne Ayala-Ashley and son Nelson R. Ashley-Martinez.

He will be remembered for his generosity love of family. His memory will continue to live on through the countless lives he touched and the love he gave so freely. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in knowing that he is now at peace. His love, his strength, and the memories we shared will remain with us always.

August 10, 2026, 10am-2pm, Burial to follow at Russian River Cemetery at 3pm.
