Stella “Desene” Portlock

Graveside services will be held for Stella “Desene” Portlock of Redwood Valley on Thursday, June 2, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Ukiah Cemetery. Desene passed away at her home on Wednesday, May 25, 2016.
Born January 21, 1936 in Nowata, Oklahoma she has lived in Mendocino County for the past 64 years. She and her late husband Doug opened R-Place Pizza in Boonville. Desene was proud of being the first paid teacher’s aide in Mendocino County. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting and canning.
Desene married the love of her life, Doug on June 14, 1952. He preceded her in death on September 17, 2010. Together they had six children, Michael, Randy, Larry, Roger, James and Ronda. They shared 15 grandchildren and numerous great grandchildren.
