Obituary:
Margarita Pulido passed away on Friday, November 23, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Illinois, on September 23, 1925. Margarita moved to the Ukiah area in 1960 with her husband, Celso Pulido along with their children. The Pulido family has been long time residents of Mendocino County.
Margarita was a homemaker during the time her children were growing up; and after her children were grown she decided to accept a position as a teacher’s aide for Migrant Head Start. Margarita enjoyed teaching children various activities, including arts and crafts and Mexican folklore dancing.
Margarita was also an active member in the community. She served as a member in the Concilio Latino Americano for many years. She also volunteered at the Saint Mary’s Mardi Gras festivals.
Margarita is survived by her daughters; Lilia Arredondo, Silvia Plaza, and Aida Pulido of Ukiah; Lucila Martinez of Fort Bragg, and Carmen Macias of Willits. Her grandchildren include; Maria, Crystal, Lola, and Mario Pulido; Tony Arredondo, Maria Manzo, and Isabel Arredondo; Claudia and Sandra Plaza; Richard, Sophia, Rosa and Silvia Pulido; Sergio, Guillermo and Rebecca Martinez; Jessica, Marco-Antonio, Israel and Jose-Manuel Rodriguez; Timothy and Adriana Macias. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
Margarita was preceded into death by her husband Celso Pulido, sons Trino and Carlos Pulido, and grandson, Steven Pulido.
Viewing will be held Thursday, November 29, 2018, from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. with a Rosary starting at 6:00 p.m. at the Eversole Mortuary.
Funeral services will be held at St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 30, 2018, followed by a burial at the Ukiah Cemetery.
Margarita will be remembered as a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She has left this world, but never our hearts. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
