Richard Donald McChesney

Richard Donald McChesney (known as Dick to many), passed away on February 24, 2024 (just 4 days shy of his 76th birthday), at his home in Lincoln, California surrounded by his family. Richard was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Richard was born in Petaluma, CA on February 28, 1948, to Dr. Arthur Clay & Helen McChesney.  

Richard was a longtime resident of Ukiah and Graduated from Ukiah High School in 1966.  After high school he started working for the family dairy in Potter Valley and then Kennedy Homes doing construction. Richard eventually got his contractor’s license and started his own successful construction company which he ran until he retired.  He spent his free time doing woodworking projects in his shop and tending to his garden.   Most of all Richard loved spending time with his family.  In 2010 Richard and his wife moved to Lincoln, Ca where he spent the rest of his days.

Richard was preceded in death by his father Dr. Authur Clay McChesney DVM, his mother Helen McChesney and his first grandchild Calin Schueller. He is survived by his wife of 55 years Sandra McChesney, twin daughters Heather Petersen and her husband Erik, and Dena Mobley and her husband Mark, son Gregory McChesney and his wife Megan.  He is also survived by his grandchildren Tyson Mobley and his Fiancé Shauny Grant, Taryn Rouse and her husband Tad, Gianna Petersen and her partner Luis Molina, Gabriella Petersen and her partner Blake Leslie, Maxwell McChesney, Ella McChesney, Kate McChesney and his great grandson Hayes Rouse with a great grandson on the way.

As per Richards's request, no funeral or memorial service will be held.
