Rodger ‘Andy’ Reinier, who just celebrated his 80th birthday with family and friends, peacefully passed away at his home on July 28, 2025 surrounded by his loving wife, Sharen, and loyal four-legged companion, Ginger, by his side.
Andy was born on July 21, 1945 in Ottumwa, Iowa. When he was young he grew up on a farm in Bloomfield, Iowa then moved to Denver, Colorado with his mother. Andy was a Vietnam Veteran that served in the US Navy from 1962-1968. He married his first wife in 1967 and started their family in Sonoma County, then proceeded to move his family to the Ukiah Valley in the mid 1970’s.
In his early years, Andy was both a volunteer and a paid fireman that spent plenty of time in the Rincon Valley and Ukiah firehouses, along with being a carpet layer by trade. He retired from the Willits Police Department as a 911 dispatcher in 2012. Andy was a man of strong character and was known for his morning diner meet ups with his buddies and his passion for riding his Harley. He shared this passion with his wife Sharen, and two daughters. He participated in local runs and charity rides, plus his annual trips to Sturgis where he traveled to see his daughters and their families in Idaho and Montana. Spending time with his lovely wife and creating memories with all those that loved him was how he liked to fill his days.
He married his second wife, Sharen, in 2005 and together they shared 20 years of marriage predominantly in the Brooktrails/Willits area. Andy is survived by his wife; daughters, Gina (Todd) Thoulion and Shelley (Russ) Currie; stepdaughter, Abby Gruenebaum; granddaughter, Ariane (Chase) Borchardt; grandsons, Dillion Thoulion and Brandon Seufert; sisters, Cathy Padilla and Cindy Morlan; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Norma Parker.
A graveside service will be held on Friday, August 8, 2025 at 10 AM, at the Ukiah Cemetery in the Russian River Cemetery District in Ukiah, CA. Following the service, there will be an Open House at the family home in Brooktrails. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to your local humane society in Andy’s memory.
Andy’s legacy of love, loyalty and integrity will forever remain in the hearts of those that knew and loved him.
