Debra Rosetti - age: 58
(February 23, 1952 to December 16, 2010 )
Resident of Hopland, California

Obituary:
Debra Rosetti, local educator with the Ukiah Unified School District and
later Nokomis School, died at her father’s Hopland home on December 16,
2010 after a brave struggle with cancer. She was 58.

The daughter of Betty and Robert Rosetti, Debra was born in Ukiah on
February 23, 1952 and raised in Hopland. Later in 1974 she completed her
Bachelor’s Degree in “Childhood Development” at Chico State University.
Soon thereafter she joined the Ukiah School District. Debra’s passion for
working with children led her to become the Director of the After School
Program at Nokomis School. For 10 years Debra took on the task of
implementing this State-funded program to help low-income families and
their children. It was due to her efforts that this program survived as
each year Debra had to reapply for the grant to qualify. In addition to
directing one of the most successful programs in Ukiah, Debra was also
able to apply for yet another grant resulting in her greatest joy - a
playground for her students at Nokomis. She was passionate about helping
all of her children and loved interacting with them in this new setting.
Debra retired in June of this year.

In addition, Debra grew up helping her family work their pear orchards and
vineyards each year. Debra was very familiar with all facets of this
endeavor. She became an integral part of the Rosetti Brothers pear and
grape production, responsible for all accounting and payroll aspects of
the business. While this took up most of her weekends, Debra was
dedicated to her family and all those involved with the orchard here in
Hopland.

Those mourning Debra Rosetti extend far beyond Hopland. Debra’s closest
friend, Kathy Haas of Palo Alto shares that all of Debra’s fellow
classmates from Chico State convey their sincere condolences from as far
away as Grunstadt, Germany.

Debra is survived by her family in Hopland: her father, Robert Rosetti;
her brother and sister-in-law, Terry and Carol Rosetti; and her niece and
nephew, Kiel and Kori Rosetti.

The Rosetti Family expresses its most sincere gratitude to all of the
cousins, friends, students and coworkers that visited Debra in her final
days. The family wishes to invite all to attend Debra’s Krypt Side
Service this Monday, December 20 at 1PM at Evergreen Memorial Gardens in
Ukiah. There will also be a Memorial Mass on Tuesday at 2PM at Saint
Francis Catholic Church in Hopland followed by a gathering at Robert
Rosetti's on Hwy 175, Hopland.
