Roy Eugene McCarty

Roy McCarty, 80 years of age, of Ukiah, California passed peacefully on Thursday, December 7^th, 2023, surrounded by family.

Roy was born on July 12, 1943 in Clayton, Oklahoma to the late Jay and Ellen McCarty.  He was the fourth of ten children, four preceded him in death.  Roy married Rose Russo on October 19^th, 1963 and to their union, three children were born.

Roy accepted Christ as his personal Savior at 20 years of age and he dedicated his life to the service of the Lord.  He became an ordained minister with the Pentecostal Church of God in 1978.  He served faithfully and diligently as a Senior Pastor for 28 years.  His love of God and family were evident by both his words and deeds. Roy would spend countless hours reading the Bible and praying for all that crossed his path.  He had compassion for all and was committed to sharing God’s love and truth to everyone he encountered. Roy was a loving provider for his family and was dedicated to their happiness and success.

Roy was an avid outdoorsman that loved hunting, fishing, camping, and hiking. He was happiest when in the countryside, enjoying nature. As a skilled handyman and tinkerer, he always had a project that he was working on around the house.

Pastor Roy McCarty leaves to cherish his memory, a devoted and beloved wife, Rose McCarty; his sons, Darrin McCarty and David McCarty; his daughter, Karen McCarty; four grandchildren, four great grandchildren; and a host of family and friends.  

Roy’s family will be hosting a Celebration of Life at Legacy Church (located at 3601 Tollini Lane, Ukiah, CA.) on January 13^th at 11:00AM.  All are welcome to attend.
