Sandra Lee Ward

With profound sadness we announce the passing of Sandra Lee Ward, our loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to all whose lives she touched. On September 5, 2023, she left us while sleeping peacefully at her residence in Ukiah, California. She just celebrated her 88th birthday on August 8th, 2023.

Born in Omaha Nebraska, she is survived by her three children, Jerry Ward (Diane), Julia Martin (Richard) and Markus Ward (Tina).  Preceded in death were her two sons Troy Ward and Phillip Ward. She was a beloved grandmother to Sarah Pickerell (Frank), Nina Rice (Luke), Jerry Ward, Jr. (Alison), Kaitlan Ward, Kinzie Ward, Clover Martin, Misty Washburn (Kelly), Jennifer and Maxine Ward, great grandchildren, Laila, Piper, Frankie, Melanie, Kassidy, Caleb, Eli, Kia, Iva Mae, and Oren.

Sandra lived a full life as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and owner in Solid Wastes of Willits, a refuse and recycling company in Mendocino County.

Most of all she loved her family and instilled strong values in her children that have served them well and whose greatest passion was helping others. She was a mother to all her children’s friends. She will be dearly missed and forever in our hearts.

A celebration of Sandra’s life will be held at 985 East Gobbi Street, Ukiah this Saturday, September 9th beginning at 2 p.m.

We Thought of you Today

We thought of you today, but that is nothing new.

We thought of you yesterday and will tomorrow too.

We think of you in silence and make no outward show.

For what it meant to lose you only those who love you know.

Remembering you is easy, we do it every day.

It’s the heartache of losing you that will never go away.
