Obituary:
Beverly Ann Schmunk, age 79, passed peacefully on Friday February 2nd, 2018 in Ukiah, CA. Born January 17th, 1939 in Martinez, CA to the late Lurline Hayden Kinsman and Guy Hayden, she spent most of her adult life as the director of medical records in Garberville and then Ukiah, CA. If she wasn’t at the hospital she could be find passing as much time as possible in the water, teaching swimming lessons, demonstrating to her grandchildren synchronized swimming or simply posing gracefully lakeside in her swimwear, always glamorous. She had a strong passion for gardening, especially fruit and vegetables to add to the lavish meals and baked goods always ready in her kitchen. From S-cookies and apple pie to perfectly golden-brown pancakes, any sweet tooth could be quickly cured at Grandma’s house. She also loved classical music, singing with the local choir and dancing to any tune.
Beverly is proceeded by her first husband Elmo ‘Big Jim’ Knox and granddaughter-in-law Lauren Evans. Her joy, vivacity, goofiness and bottomless love will be tremendously missed by her family including her husband Roy Schmunk, her sister Peggy Muzio and brother Tom Hayden; children Katherine Knox Evans, Susan and Eric Graham and Kevin and Katrina Knox; her grandchildren Robert Evans, Ryan Evans, Megan Knox, Tiffany Knox, Jessica Graham, Taylor Graham, Houston Knox and Peyton Knox; nieces Julie, Jeanna and Jennifer Muzio and Taylor and Hannah Hayden; great-grandchildren Lane Evans, Tuck Evans and Verona Evans.
