B. Bradford Scott

Passed from this life in Ukiah surrounded by angels on Tuesday, March 30, 2010.
Born in Oakland on May 8, 1924 to Roy and Bessey Scott, his mother and he relocated to his maternal grandfather, Christopher W. Bradford’s, Eagle Rock Ranch, on Low Gap Road. This following the passing of his father.
Brad spent his early youth on the ranch raised by his mother, grandfather and grandmother Irene. Where, he rode his horse to the Pine Ridge schoolhouse, south of the ranch.
In 1933, Brad and his mother moved from the ranch to the Victorian at the corner of W. Smith and Dora Streets. This would be Bessey’s home until her passing on September 1, 1985.
He attended Yokayo School and Ukiah High School. Following High School Brad served proudly with the 20th Air Force, 29th Bomb Group, Army Air Corps, in the Pacific Theatre, during World War II.
Upon his return from service, Brad embarked on a career that would span 48 years as an architectural draftsman and master carpenter.
On October 9, 1950 he married Elizabeth Ann Farnsworth and had two children Christopher and Michael.
Brad truly enjoyed the outdoors, fishing Mendocino counties streams and lakes with his good friend Clay Denham and yearly outings to Pogie Point on Lake Pillsbury with his uncle, Lloyd Bradford.
He was active in youth leadership with the Cub Scouts and Pony/Colt baseball. A member of the Ukiah Elks Lodge and sat with the Willow County Water District, Board of Directors, for 46 years.
Brad is survived by his son Christopher and wife Mary Lou, stepson Leon, his grandson Graeme, wife Natasha and great granddaughter MacKenzie Scott.
Brad was preceded in death by his wife of 57 years Betty F. Scott and son Michael B. Scott.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, 714 S. State St., Ukiah, CA 95482.
Friends and family are invited to a memorial service on Saturday, May 1, 2010 at 1 pm at Eversole Mortuary.
