Obituary:
Linda Margaret Shimmin passed away peacefully on February 27, 2018 at age 67. She was born on May 22, 1950 to Larkin and Louise Younce of Ukiah, California. She is survived by her husband Paul R. Shimmin of 46 years, her sister Melinda Ann Walls and husband Chris of Ukiah, niece Sydney Walls of Los Angeles, brother-in-law Gary Shimmin and his wife Louanne of Okatie, South Carolina, nephew Donald Shimmin and his wife Kelly and great-niece Vivian Rose Shimmin of Omaha, Nebraska.
Linda graduated from Ukiah High School in 1968 and graduated from The University of California Los Angeles with a degree in political science.
Linda began her career working as a secretary for the regional manager of Union Bank, San Jose and finished her career working with her sister as a partner at Larkin Younce Appraisals.
Her love for animals led her to become very active in the Humane Society of Inland Mendocino County. She was a driving force in helping sponsor its expansion and providing other volunteer services.
She and her husband Paul enjoyed travel to many parts of the world, including a special place in Maui, Hawaii.
