Teodulo Francisco Tovar Jr., a beloved son, father, brother, uncle, and friend passed away on June1, 2025, in Clearlake, California. Born on March 5, 1988, in Ukiah, California, Teodulo lived a life rich in love and connection to his family and community.
Jr was well-known for his warm spirit and traditional roots as a Native Pomo Dancer. His passion for the dance reflected the vibrancy of his personality—one that will continue to inspire others and be remembered fondly. He was a devoted family man who cherished his time spent with loved ones, always eager to lend a helping hand. His presence at graduations, birthdays, and other special occasions left a lasting impression; he would arrive with a thoughtful gift that demonstrated his love and support.
In addition to thriving in family gatherings, Jr. had hobbies that brought him joy and camaraderie. He loved playing football and gaming, especially enjoying Madden with family and friends. He was also an enthusiastic BBQ chef who delighted in grilling for family get-togethers, creating warm memories at Highland Springs.
Jr. was proud of many accomplishments throughout his life, particularly of raising his daughter, Jazzy. He cherished the memory of his late father, Teodulo Tovar Sr., and took great joy in being an extraordinary uncle to his nineteen nieces and nephews, treating them as his own. His godchildren, Geleah and Baby K, held a special place in his heart, showcasing his commitment to nurturing the next generation.
Jr. is survived by his daughter, Jazzy; mother, Veronica Tovar; sisters, Raevan Shephard, Ivanna Tovar, and Yolanda Sanchez; and brothers, Daven Shepherd, Taylor Shepherd, Ricky Tovar, Joshua Tovar, and Dominic Tovar. He is also fondly remembered by a loving circle of family and friends.
He was predeceased by his father, Teodulo Tovar Sr.; brother, Crisanto Tarvar; niece, Kia Tovar; nephew, Vincent Tovar; and his grandparents: Iran Anderson, Kottie Anderson, Patricia Downs, and Ron Knight.
Jr's legacy will be celebrated with a visitation on June 8, 2025, from 3:00 PM untill the service on Wednesday June 11, 2025 at 10AM at Big Valley Community Center in Lakeport, California. This will be followed by a graveside service on June 11, 2025, at 2:00 PM at Heartly Cemetery, also in Lakeport. A gathering will be held after the graveside back at Big Valley Community Center. A traditional dinner will take place, all is welcome.
As he dances on in spirit, Teodulo Francisco Tovar Jr. will be remembered for his generosity, infectious laughter, and unwavering love for family and friends. His memory will continue to dance in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know him.
