Eloise Thies

On January 14, 2011, Eloise Thies passed peacefully in her sleep with her family by her side. She was born May 7, 1944, to Pete and Lily Rovera and was a lifelong resident of Calpella, California.
Eloise was a graduate of Ukiah High School Class of ’62 and an active board member of the Ukiah High School Alumni Association. She was a teacher’s aide and bookkeeper at Calpella Elementary for 17 years and an Avon Sales Representative for the last 27 years. Eloise most enjoyed serving her customers who became her good friends. During her career with Avon she received numerous awards, her proudest achievement being awarded the Sprit of Avon.
Eloise is survived by her husband of 30 years, Tom Thies who was the “love of her life”. She was proudest of her daughter Tami Lucchetti and husband Mike, and her son Peter Moyer and wife Naomi. Her grandchildren, Dustin and Brady Satterwhite and Shiloh Moyer were the joy of her life. They will miss “Nonna” and her favorite expression “I love you as high as the sky, as deep as the ocean”. She is also survived by her sister Gloria Thompson and husband Oren, her brother-in-law Buhl Hoover and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She is preceded in death by her grandson, Nathan Moyer, sister Lorraine Hoover and parents Pete and Lily Rovera.
Eloise will be remembered for her larger than life personality and dedication to her family and her business.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 21, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Eversole Mortuary. Interment will follow at Ukiah Cemetery. There will be a visitation on Thursday, January 20, 2011 from 12 to 8 p.m. at the mortuary.
Donations to the Cystic Fibrosis Organization, 6931 Arlington Road, 2nd Floor, Bethesda, MD 20814 are preferred by the family.
