Obituary:
Geraldine Vivian Decker VanNorstrand, born October 30, 1928 in New York, graduated to heaven on Thursday, May 5, 2016. She was preceded in death by her husband Robert Harlow VanNorstrand on June 14, 1993 and by her infant son Kevin Lee VanNorstrand in 1958. She is survived by her sister Bernice Galek of Kent, CT, children Brenda Peters, Terry VanNorstrand, Alan VanNorstrand, Linda Yaple, Sallie Clampitt, Lisa Rantala and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Gerry was a very strong, loving, nurturing mother with a very big heart. She worked at Ukiah Convalescent, helped run the Fork’s Café with her daughters for 7 years and was a greeter at WalMart for 12 years until her retirement 7 years ago. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church, loved camping and putting puzzles together. Gerry was an avid bowler at Yokayo Bowl for over 20 years. She loved people; she was a friend to all, she never met a stranger.
A Celebration of her Life will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at 2 pm at Calvary Baptist Church with Pastor David Donnell officiating.
