Obituary:
LOUISE WALLY
April 2, 1937 – September 3, 2021

“God saw her getting tired, a cure not meant to be, so He put his arm around her, and whispered “Come with Me”.

Louise Catherine Wally passed away peacefully at her home on Friday, September 3rd, 2021. Louise was born, raised and educated in the State of New Jersey. She married her high school sweetheart, John Wally in Hoboken, N.J. on December 1st, 1956, and they had one daughter, Lillian (Basner).

Louise was a devout Catholic who loved words; she loved to write and read. She treasured her church, her family, her home and her friends.

Louise and John happily lived and worked in the Northeast for the first twenty years of their marriage. They then relocated to the Dallas Fort-Worth area of Texas where they made many lifetime friendships. After they retired from their respective positions, they moved to Ukiah, California. Louise worked part-time at the Grace Lutheran Church, where again, she developed strong friendships and had eagerly enjoyed lunch with a few of them monthly even after leaving that position.

Louise was the secretary for the Ukiah Lodge #2104 of the Sons and Daughters of Italy Organization for two consecutive terms and continued on as their “sunshine lady”. She was proud to represent the Ukiah Lodge at their Grand Lodge Convention multiple times.

Louise loved to be in her kitchen, in her home; cooking and baking and preparing her family’s favorite foods for them. She enjoyed many functions at the Ukiah Senior Center. She was the Charter Member and Facilitator for the “Block of Writers” for many years. She enjoyed these peers and their talents and spoke of them often.

Louise is survived by her husband, John James Wally, and their daughter, Lillian Basner and son-in-law, David Basner (both of Ukiah, CA); grandsons Logan Basner (and wife Kelsey) of Mesa, Arizona, and Adam Basner (and fiancé Shannon Sutton) of Raleigh, North Carolina. Also, sister-in-law, Rose Celidonio, and her husband Donald, as well as precious cousins still residing in New Jersey. She is preceded in death by her parents, Arthur and Lillian Balletti.

Louise’s family would like to thank the amazing team from Hospice of Ukiah, Dr. Wang and his office staff, Adventist Health Ukiah Valley medical, nursing and support staff, as well as her wonderful caregivers!
