Ward Ramey III was born January 1, 1950, in Missouri to parents Ward Jr and Christal Ramey. He missed being the New Year first born, being the second baby born that year. Ward is named after his father who nicknamed him Buddy. Through the years those that were family and close friends called him Buddy. He once remarked with a chuckle once that he did not even know his name was Ward till, he was 8 years old.
Ward graduated from Greenland High School in Arkansas, where he played baseball and football. Throughout his life he read the bible and could recite many psalms and passages.
Ward was a loving son, always trying to do the right thing for his parents. He was a good brother always looking out for and caring for his younger siblings. He had many nieces and nephews, who found his knowledge astounding and vast in many subjects. Ward was known as the "Rock of Gibraltar" to his family. Psalm 18:1-2.
Ward was a carpenter and electrician by trade, but he also was very fond of making mechanical things work, and could repair anything from cars to leaf blowers. He was an avid gardener who loved growing vegetables, strawberries, and flowers, his favorites were daisies and wildflowers. He was no stranger to the kitchen, often making breakfast for his mom and stepdad as they were becoming elderly. He was a caretaker to all in his family.
Ward was a kind person to animals, and had many different dogs in his lifetime, baby turtles, garden lizards. Later in life he took care feeding and doctoring stray, feral cats, and kittens hoping to their forever home.
Ward was never married or had any children of his own. Ward Ramey III was predeceased by his parents, Ward Ramey Jr., and Christal Eason, also his sisters Darlene Tooley of California, Rosalynn Ramey-Lara of Oregon, his brothers James David Ramey of Missouri and David Leigh Ramey of California. He was also predeceased by his stepfather Philip Eason of Boonville, California.
Ward is survived by his sisters Kandy Ludwig of Florida, Cindy Ferris of Nevada, Robben Vikart of California, and Jaki Ramey of Ohio. Ward is also survived by many nieces and nephews; James, Chem, Terry (Camyll), Stephen (Akari), Mathew (Trish), Camron (Amber), Ben, Katie (Christopher), Carley, Shannon, Andrea, Jared. He is survived by many great nieces and nephews.
Ward Wallace Ramey III passed on September 28, 2023, while fighting metastasized cancer at Ukiah Valley Medical Center with his sister Robben and nephew Stephen by his side. Ward is to be cremated and buried with his mother Christal Eason at the Ukiah Cemetery, Ukiah California.
