Together they moved to Oakland where Alan worked as a Merchant Marine and then was transferred to the Chevron Oil Refinery in Richmond. They built a home in El Sobrante and raised four children; John Warden, David Warden, Paul Warden, and Nancy Warden Todd.
After Alan retired from Chevron they moved back to Potter Valley where Wanda lived the rest of her life on the property she loved, surrounded by her family and friends.
Wanda enjoyed music and one of her most cherished memories was singing for many years with the Mendocino/Lake County chapter of the Sweet Adeline Group. She was a member of the Redwood Empire Sheepdog Association (RESDA) along with her companion dog, Duke. She loved to take out-of-state hunting and fishing trips with her family and friends; she adored gospel music especially the old hymns; and she was a faithful member of the Potter Valley Bible Church.
