Obituary:
Diane D. Monticello Ware, 71, of Ukiah, Ca. passed away at home on Saturday, August 29, 2009 with her family present. Diane was born May 7, 1938 in Chicago, IL. and raised in Petaluma, Ca. She had lived in Ukiah for the past 46 years.
Diane graduated from Saint Vincent de Paul in Petaluma in 1956, and later graduated from Burbank Business College.
Diane worked as a secretary at New York Life where she met her husband; she also was a secretary for Union Carbide in San Francisco and later was a partner with her husband in Ware Appraisal Service in Ukiah.
Diane was proud of her 3 children, creating a warm and happy home and maintaining strong lifelong friendships. Her brother and sister said “Diane was a kind and loving sister who was always there for us. We will miss her greatly.”
She was a Past President of Oak Manor PTA, served for many years on the election board, played Bunco and was a member of the Ukiah Elks Wapitis.Diane loved arranging flowers, gardening, decorating for the holidays and spending time with the people she loved.
Diane is survived by her husband of 45 years William W. Ware Sr. of Ukiah, daughter Christine Yukimoto of Folsom, Ca. sons William Ware Jr. and his wife Lily, of Folsom, Ca. and Douglas Ware of Ukiah, Ca. sisters Carol Mischel and her husband Jake of Petaluma, Ca. Vicki Mazzoleni and her husband George of Petaluma, Ca. sister- in- law Sandy White and her husband Richard of Willits, Ca. brother Tory Monticello and his wife Sharon of Petaluma, Ca. grandchildren Alexander Ware of Folsom, Ca and Kai Yukimoto of Folsom, Ca., also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Diane was preceded in death by her son- in- law Masa Yukimoto and her parents Salvatore and Dorothy Monticello.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 4, 2009 at 11:00 am at the Eversole Mortuary. Father Raul of St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church will officiate.
The family prefers memorial donations in Diane’s name to Plowshares of Ukiah or American Diabetes Association.
